my stay was enhanced by the hotel’s superb central spot, making it easy to explore the nearby Wivey pool and enjoy a lovely stroll through the charming village square. The staff were really polite and attentive during my visit, which added to the overall experience.

Loved the spacious and comfy double room! The dinner was perfect. I tried the camembert and duck, both amazing! the retro charm of the place really added to the experience.

Breakfast was a highlights, but we faced long waits and issues with cleanliness that detracted from our overall experience.

Just a prime choice for a quick layover in Wiveliscombe with best value. The food was surprisingly quite good, even if the service was a bit lacking. Make sure to book a room with a view if possible.

Well-built pub with a cozy atmosphere, excellent for grabbing a bite after a long ride. Clean rooms with plenty of hot water and a solid selection of teas and coffees.

The rooms had layout quirks. accessing the en suite bathroom involved descending several stairs, which can be a bit odd. Noise from the bar area and kitchen fans might be bothersome if you're looking for peace. The breakfast was quite minimal and not fulfilling, leaving room for improvement.

The room on the top floor featured impressive original beams and a well-installed modern bathroom, providing a blend of character and comfort. Thoughtful touches like a heated towel rail and an abundance of hot water made the stay more enjoyable.

Reaching the room meant navigating some very steep, narrow stairs — a definite challenge if you're not spry. The decor felt outdated, with uneven finishes and some visible repairs, and the absence of hand grips in the shower presented a safety concern. the continental breakfast offered minimal variety, and the lack of cooked options unless crossing to another pub felt inconvenient.
